Paula Hawkins is a British author best known for her bestselling psychological thriller The Girl on the Train (2015), later adapted into a film starring Emily Blunt. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, she moved to London at 17 and studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Oxford before working as a journalist for The Times. She initially wrote romantic comedies under the pen name Amy Silver before shifting to darker fiction, which led to her breakout success.
