About Vivienne

Paula Hawkins is a British author best known for her bestselling psychological thriller The Girl on the Train (2015), later adapted into a film starring Emily Blunt. Born in Harare, Zimbabwe, she moved to London at 17 and studied Philosophy, Politics, and Economics at the University of Oxford before working as a journalist for The Times. She initially wrote romantic comedies under the pen name Amy Silver before shifting to darker fiction, which led to her breakout success. Her later novels, including Into the Water (2017) and A Slow Fire Burning (2021), solidified her place in the thriller genre.
