About Vivienne

Alex Michaelides is a bestselling author known for psychological thrillers with dark twists and unreliable narrators. Born and raised in Cyprus, he studied English literature at Trinity College, Cambridge, and later earned a degree in screenwriting from the American Film Institute. His debut novel, The Silent Patient, became a global bestseller and helped define his signature blend of psychology, suspense, and shocking reveals. Before becoming a novelist, he studied psychotherapy and worked with adolescents experiencing complex mental health challenges, an experience that informs his work. He lives in London.
